Artist, Randy Hamburg
Hello and welcome to my studio!
Born and raised in Mississippi, my interest in art began at an early age spending evenings drawing the things I saw around me in daily life. Blessed with a bit of natural ability I began entering art competitions even while in grade school and continued to draw and paint through my teen and early adult years. Although my creative endeavors have taken many avenues and paths, they always lead back to painting as a primary form of expression.
After graduating from Mississippi State University with a degree in accounting, my wife Gina and I relocated to Houston, Texas where I began my career. Still longing to unleash the creative spirit within, I began studying in earnest at workshops and with established artists to develop my own style and increase my skills while working in acrylics, pastels, and more recently, oils.
“Painting is all about passion and feeling. A painting should touch the soul of both the artist and his audience whether representational or abstract. It’s not uncommon to find me working on several projects concurrently as the mood fits.”
My inspiration is drawn from family, faith, and friends. References for my paintings can come from anywhere; places I’ve traveled, my personal interests, and just the day to day things in life that we all take for granted.
